'Twilight''s Beautifully Scarred Tinsel Korey on Filming 'Breaking Dawn' By Annette Bourdeau

'Twilight''s Beautifully Scarred Tinsel Korey on Filming 'Breaking Dawn'

You know her as Emily, Sam's beautifully scarred fiancee in the 'Twilight' movies, but you probably wouldn't recognize Tinsel Korey walking down the street. While her 'Twilight' co-stars are constantly fawned over by diehard fans, Korey says that she can walk around incognito, since her character is somewhat disguised by the bangs and the scar.

Beyond 'Twilight,' Korey is best known as an indie movie queen. She garnered accolades for her role as Blue Girl in Carl Bessai's 'Unnatural & Accidental.' She's poised to wow audiences again in 'Stained,' which is being released on DVD on Aug. 30. This time around, she channels her inner dark side to play a schizophrenic serial killer.

Despite all of her serious roles, Korey is actually quite a goofball. She'll have a chance to showcase her silly side in the upcoming flick 'Fishing Naked,' which costars her 'Twilight' buddy Bronson Pelletier. Moviefone caught up with the Canadian-born, L.A.-based actress to get the lowdown on shooting 'Breaking Dawn,' learning stunts from Kevin Sorbo and why she was hand-picked to play a killer.

How did you get involved with 'Stained'?
My demo reel came across director Karen Lam's table. When I was offered the role, they said you're going to play a schizophrenic serial killer. I'm like, what did she see from my reel? Apparently when I'm smiling it looks like everything is great, and when I'm not I look like I can kill somebody. So I don't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing!

How did you prepare for it?
You have to go into a dark place to play a character like that so I was listening to the kind of music that triggered those kinds of emotions. It was really interesting to delve into that part of your psyche.

No kidding! What kind of music were you listening to?
[Laughs] Actually, it was My Chemical Romance. It's a pretty emo band.

'Breaking Dawn' is coming out soon. What was it like filming that?
Bittersweet. Obviously it's great to be back on set and see everybody, but I knew it was the last movie. I remember being at dinner and just looking around and it was like, 'Are we all going to be friends when this is finished?' I compare movies to summer camp. You have these great relationships and you bond, and then when summer ends you're all like, 'We have to keep in touch!' Then life moves on and you go your separate ways.

How has the dynamic on set changed between 'New Moon' and 'Breaking Dawn'? Was everyone more relaxed and comfortable with each other?
We see each other at 'Twilight' conventions and stuff like that, so we've gotten to interact a lot more than you would on another movie where it finishes and you don't see each other. So that strengthened our bond as a wolf pack unit. You could definitely tell that the movie had changed, as in the budget and the level of movie. When we were filming 'New Moon' the hype was really just starting to pick up and I think that 'Twilight' had just been released internationally, so it wasn't the crazy hoopla that it is right now. Obviously that was intensified by 'Eclipse,' and then 'Breaking Dawn' was another level.

That's really interesting. Are there any tangible examples you can think of? For example, were you having caviar at the craft services table or anything crazy like that?
[Laughs] Nothing crazy like that, because obviously they want to spend the funds on making the best movie possible. There's more people. The security was really intense, because we've had incidents. Like on 'Eclipse' these fans somehow made it onto set. It was actually kind of funny because they obviously had the plan to make it on to set, but then they didn't know what to do when they got on set. So they were standing there and the crew and all of us are staring at them staring at us and everyone's like so ... what now? [Laughs] So security was definitely bumped up.

Are you getting approached by a lot of 'Twilight' fans now?
I don't get recognized, especially when I don't have my bangs. I rarely tell people that I'm an actor in general, but when it does come up they say 'Oh, what character do you play?' When I say I'm the girl with the scar they just stare at my face and say, 'You look really different!' I'm like, 'Yeah, because half my face isn't covered with a scar!' I think people are expecting to see Emily and not me, so I actually don't get recognized.

I know that you just released your first single, what was that process like?
It was amazing! I got to work with Stevie Salas, who has worked with Justin Timberlake and Mick Jagger. He brought this all-star team of musicians like Pink's drummer and Marcus Curiel from P.O.D. and I got to see his magic unfold.

What else do you have coming up? I understand you just did something with Kevin Sorbo?
Yes, it's a movie called 'Avarice.' It's a sci-fi thriller. It was an independent movie so we didn't have a stunt person, so we're doing the scene and Kevin Sorbo was teaching me stunts, and I was like, cool, Hercules is teaching me stunts right now!

What kind of stuff was he teaching you? Were you jumping off buildings or anything like that?
I wish. At some point in my career! No, it was just punches and hits and getting thrown around and stuff like that. And then I'm actually doing a movie in September with Bronson Pelletier, who is in 'Twilight,' and it also has Elyse Levesque from 'Stargate Universe.' It's a comedy. It's sort of an 'American Pie' with a supernatural twist. I do all of these really intense movies, and that's awesome, but sometimes I just want to laugh. I like comedy and I think it's one of my strong points as an actor, but for some reason I think people just see me being serious, which I'm not at all.

Is there anything else you'd like to mention?
For up-and-coming actors or anyone who wants acting advice, I started a Tumblr page and I do everything from Acting 101 to 401, and it goes in steps like how to find an agent, how to do headshots and stuff like that. I always get the question how do I get into acting, so I made a page for it.

A Closer Look At The 'Breaking Dawn' Wedding Invitation

MTV and serious Twi-peeps give their take on it

Posted by dazzledbytwilight Monday, June 06, 2011 1:37:27 AM

If you didn't get an invite to the London wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, well you are even less likely to get one to the Swan-Cullen nuptials in Forks, WA.

MTV has in their possession the actual invitation used in 'Breaking Dawn,' and the folks at The Lexicon and Twilight Series Theories share their thoughts on it:

MTV got their hands on the official "Breaking Dawn" wedding invitation that was used in the movie for Bella and Edward's nuptials. And if you caught the red-carpet pre-show during the "America's Best Dance Crew" finale, then you've already seen it with your own two eyes. Outlined in lavender and with the Cullen seal in wax embedded on the envelope, MTV has the exclusive invite to the wedding of the century.

Also of note, the wedding date has been pushed forward from when it happened in the book — our deductive math skills reveal the wedding technically took place in 2006 — and is now occurring on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at 5 p.m.

If you feel like honoring that time frame with a visit to Forks, Washington, then you will be happy to know that the wedding is officially taking place at 420 Woodcroft Avenue. Unfortunately, based on a quick Google Maps search, that location doesn't actually exist, but maybe Summit Entertainment will work their magic to make it happen.

Definitely the coolest part of the invitation, though, is the official Cullen crest emblazoned on the wax seal on the envelope. Check your local Hot Topics to see if the Cullen crest becomes the next piece of "Twilight" merchandise that everyone starts sealing their letters with.

Robert Pattinson: 'Breaking Dawn' is a horror movie

Robert Pattinson: 'Breaking Dawn' is a horror movie
Robert Pattinson says Breaking Dawn is a horror movie

To hear it from Robert Pattinson, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" will be a lot more "Black Swan" than "Sweet Valley High."
The heartthrob is in full swing promoting "Water For Elephants," which costars Reese Witherspoon, and dishing on the tone of the final two parts in the massive vampire franchise.
Pattinson confesses that "for a big mainstream movie, it's the most obscure storyline and really outside the box. It’s a horror movie." Director Bill Condon is at the helm.
With the "Twilight" team going darker, Pattinson wonders if the flick will score a PG-13 rating.
"I've seen a few bits, and I just can't see how it’s going to be PG-13 ... unless they cut everything out," he said.
While he's thrilled with the filmmaking, he's eager to say goodbye to his trademark golden eyes -- specifically the contact lenses that give him the dreamy effect.
"It’s embarrassing for me -- after so many years, it's still a process every single morning. Everybody else has figured out how to do it, and then there's two people holding me down because I can't do it myself," he said.

Two new Eclipse Behind the Scenes Video Clips

by LMCullen on January 29, 2011 · 18 Comments

Above are two new Eclipse behind the scenes videos called The Talk and Good To Be Bad!
The Talk is one of my favorite scenes in Eclipse!! lol Kristen and Billy did an amazing job on that scene!

Twilight: Eclipse director David Slade will helm The Last Voyage of the Demeter

Twilight: Eclipse director David Slade will helm The Last Voyage of the Demeter

David Slade has signed on to direct the film THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER, which is not surprisingly about, wait for it…vampires. The film follows a ship that is transporting Dracula’s coffin from Transylvania to London and the crew gets picked off one by one, ala Ripley Scott’s ALIEN. One lone survivor who has gone mad washes up on shore with a copy of Bram Stoker’s classic novel. Right now Noomi Rapace and Ben Kingsley are attached to star in the film, but that was confirmed so long ago when the film had director Stefan Ruzowitsky on board. Noomi Rapace is so busy these days she may end up dropping out. And as of now the lead role has not been cast but the studios are looking. Financing is still elusive so we don’t know when this will get off the ground and start shooting.
I think David Slade must have a really soft spot for the bloodsuckers, which is surprising since it didn’t seem that he was too thrilled with his whole TWILIGHT: ECLIPSE experience. I will say that THE LAST VOYAGE OF THE DEMETER does sound more his style and I’m anxious to see what he does with it because the story does sound pretty cool.

Extensive Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Casting Report

Larson Hill

Fans of Breaking Dawn have a lot more casting news to digest now that Summit Entertainment has unleashed a slew of Twilight Saga info for Breaking Dawn on the masses.

Over the past few weeks, fans of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn have received new Breaking Dawn casting updates, which included Mackenzie Foy as Renesmee in Breaking Dawn and various members of the Denali vampire coven. Now Summit Entertainment has unleashed the motherload of Breaking Dawn casting news, which includes The Amazon Coven, The Egyptian Coven, The Irish Coven and The Romanian Coven, as well as the American and European nomads.
Check out the official Breaking Dawn cast release from Summit Entertainment below.
THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – Casting Update
Summit Entertainment announced today the following have been cast in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN for roles in The Amazon Coven, The Egyptian Coven, The Irish Coven and The Romanian Coven as well as the American and European Nomads as outlined below.
THE AMAZON COVEN
The Amazon Coven is comprised of Tracey Heggins as Senna and Judi Shekoni as Zafrina.
Among the oldest vampires in the world, Senna and Zafrina are descendants of an ancient Amazonian tribe. They have lived outside of civilization for centuries and therefore make no attempt to keep up a human facade. Though they drink human blood, the Amazons have long been allies of Carlisle.
THE EGYPTIAN COVEN
The Egyptian Coven is comprised of:
Omar Metwally (RENDITION, MUNICH) as Amun.
Andrea Gabriel (Lost, House) as Kebi.
Rami Malek (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM) as Benjamin.
Angela Sarafyan (LOVE HURTS, THE GOOD GUYS) as Tia.
The Egyptian Coven consists of Amun, Kebi, Benjamin, and Tia, with Amun as the leader. It is stated that even though they are not a biological family, they could pass for one. Amun is extremely protective of his family and fearful of Aro.
THE IRISH COVEN
The Irish Coven is comprised of Marlane Barnes (THE TREE OF LIFE) as Maggie, Lisa Howard as Siobhan and Patrick Brennan as Liam.
The Irish Coven, a relatively young group, was founded by Siobhan and Liam, but Maggie's talent made her an important element of it. They are not vegetarian but they are civilized.
THE ROMANIAN COVEN
The Romanian Coven is comprised of Noel Fisher (THE PACIFIC, FINAL DESTINATION 2) as Vladimir and Guri Weinberg (MUNICH) as Stefan.
The Romanian Coven is one of the oldest covens in the world and they were the ruling vampire family until they were unseated by the Volturi. For that reason they harbor a centuries old resentment of the Italian coven.
THE AMERICAN NOMADS
The American Nomads are comprised of:
Lee Pace as Garrett (Pushing Daisies, THE GOOD SHEPHERD).
Toni Trucks (MUSIC AND LYRICS) as Mary.
Bill Tangradi (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) as Randall.
Erik Odom as Peter.
Valorie Curry (Veronica Mars) as Charlotte.
Turned during the Revolutionary War, Garrett has chosen to live a nomadic existence, wandering the world on his own. Garrett has never lost the rebellious spirit of his human life, and loves a good fight, always rooting for the underdog. Though not a vegetarian, Garrett is among Carlisle's closest and oldest friends.
Mary and Randall are American nomadic vampires.
Peter and Charlotte are nomadic vampires and mates. They were created during the aftermath of the Southern Vampire Wars, in which Jasper was a key player. They have remained friends with Jasper ever since.
THE EUROPEAN NOMADS
The European Nomads are comprised of Joe Anderson (THE CRAZIES) as Alistair.
A nomadic vampire from England, Alistair has a misanthropic, brooding personality and a deep mistrust of all authority. Although he counts Carlisle as his closest acquaintance, he doesn’t visit more than once a century.

'Breaking Dawn' Casts Maggie Grace As Irina

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1648828/20100927/story.jhtml?xrs=eml_MTVMovies4

'Lost' and 'Taken' actress will play a 'vegetarian' vampire who turns on the Cullens.

Last month we learned that "The Pacific" actor Rami Malek had joined the "Dawn" ranks in the role of Egyptian vampire Benjamin. On Monday (September 27), it was reported that "Lost" and "Taken" actress Maggie Grace has signed on to play "vegetarian" vampire Irina.
A rep from Summit Entertainment confirmed the casting to MTV News, and the original story appeared first on Deadline.com.
So who is Irina? Those familiar with Stephenie Meyer's source material will recall that she is a member of the Denali coven, one of the only other "vegetarian" vampire covens and allies with the Cullens — that is, until Irina blames the family for the death of her former lover, Laurent, and vengefully reveals a Cullen family secret to the Volturi.
The other "Dawn" newbie, Benjamin, is a member of the Egyptian coven who comes to help Bella and the Cullens battle the Volturi. Benjamin is a young vamp blessed with the special ability of controlling the elements (à la Storm from X-Men), though he has yet to fully master his powers.
"I think it's going to be great," Rami told "ET" of his joining the cast last month. "It's going to be super exciting, and I'm thrilled."
Summit announced in June that "Breaking Dawn" would be divided into two parts; the first of the two films is scheduled to hit theaters November 18, 2011, and the second on November 16, 2012.

'Breaking Dawn' Casts Rami Malek As Benjamin 'I'm thrilled,' the 'Pacific' actor says of joining high-profile series.

Just when it seemed like things were all quiet on the "Twilight" front — save for a few updates from actress Nikki Reed and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg — "Entertainment Tonight" reports that "Pacific" star Rami Malek will be joining the "Breaking Dawn" cast as Egyptian vampire Benjamin.
"I think it's going to be great," he told "ET." "It's going to be super exciting, and I'm thrilled."
In addition to "The Pacific," Malek has appeared in various films and TV shows, most recently in the "Night at the Museum" movies as Ahkmenrah. He is also in Tom Hanks' upcoming film "Larry Crowne."
So who is Benjamin? Fans of the books will remember him as a member of the Egyptian coven who, upon receiving word from Carlisle, comes to help Bella and the Cullens battle the Volturi. Benjamin is a young vamp blessed with the special ability of controlling the elements (à la Storm from X-Men), though he has yet to fully master his powers.
Benjamin is just one of many new characters in "Dawn." The extra roles have proven to be a challenge for Rosenberg, who told us recently she's currently struggling with the film's big battle scene, during which the two groups of vamps face off.
"The final battle sequence is a big challenge, because it lasts 25 pages," she said. "It's almost an entire three-act story in and of itself. You have to track hundreds of characters. It's an enormous challenge to choreograph on the page and for [director] Bill [Condon] to choreograph on the stage."
What do you think of Rami Malek's casting as Benjamin? Let us know in the comments!

Summit Addresses The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Rumors
Posted 08.22.10 by Jenny
It'll come as no surprise that rumors about final Twilight Saga movie Breaking Dawn have been making the rounds, ever since Summit first gave the movie the go ahead. Fans have mostly been speculating on Bella's violent birthing scene and how baby Renesmee will be created — will CGI or a series of actresses be used? Summit recently sent an email to Twilight fansites to clear up several recent rumors, and here's what we know so far.
1. Bella and Edward's miracle child, Renesmee, will not have a change of name for the movie — good or bad news, depending on your opinion.
2. Newborn vampire Riley (Xavier Samuel), first seen in Eclipse, will not be rising from the ashes to make an appearance in Breaking Dawn. His IMDb page is wrong — don't believe everything you read there, Twilighters.
3. Deborah Zane is the only casting director working on Breaking Dawn. No local auditions are being held, and there are no nationwide casting notices.
We're sure it won't be long before Summit is back with another edition of "Breaking Dawn: True or False?," so stay tuned.

'Twilight' Spoof 'Vampires Suck': Meet Your Edward Sullen

'Twilight' Spoof 'Vampires Suck': Meet Your Edward Sullen

By George Loomis

When a film is successful enough to warrant third, fourth and even fifth(!) chapters, that usually means it’s time to start roasting a franchise a bit. Just like “Star Wars” got “Spaceballs” and the horror genre reaped “Scary Movie” flicks, vampire films now deserve their own roast. And whether self-proclaimed “Twi-hards” like it or not, that time has finally come for “The Twilight Saga.”

"'Vampires Suck’ is a spoof on ‘Twilight,’” Matt Lanter (best known for “90210”) explained to MTV News at last night’s Teen Choice Awards. “I play the Edward character. It was fun. It was great, man. We pretty much follow ‘The Twilight Saga’ and just poke fun at it and have fun.”

Though Matt’s having fun branching out from his regular zip code, the obvious next question is… will millions of “Twilight” fans worldwide have fun, too? According to Matt, Twilighters just might. If they decide to give “Vampires Suck” a chance when it hits theaters August 18, that is.

“Am I scared [of the Twi-hards]? Everybody’s been asking me that. Yeah, I’m scared!” the actor next seen as Edward Cullen — oh wait, I meant Edward Sullen — confessed. Noticeable differences about Matt’s Edward include a hair poof standing at least six inches above his head.

“You know, what’s actually cool, though, is that I’ve gotten a lot of really good responses, a couple of Twitter [responses], you know, stuff like that,” Matt explained. “A lot of people say they’re really excited for it. It’s adding to the story. I mean, let’s face it. They’re so huge and it’s such a successful franchise that we wouldn’t be doing it if it wasn’t for them.”

So just because you’re in love with the “Twilight” films, don’t rule out “Vampires Suck” completely. Maybe it’s your chance to finally have a few laughs over the ridiculous situations those characters get themselves into. Besides, as Matt reminded us yesterday, “Imitation is the greatest form of flattery!”

Do you think it’s too soon to already start roasting the most bankable franchise in Hollywood today? Is Matt a good fit for the role of Edward Sullen, and will you see “Vampires Suck” on August 18?

Robert Pattinson 'Glad' Two-Part 'Breaking Dawn' Will Be Shot Back-To-Back

Robert Pattinson 'Glad' Two-Part 'Breaking Dawn' Will Be Shot Back-To-Back

With Summit Entertainment's long-expected announcement that "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn" will be split into two films, "Twilight" fans breathed a collective sigh of "obviously." But while the statement seemed to be released so it could coincide with Saturday's "Eclipse" junkets, one member of the cast has reason to be opposed to Summit's choice of timing: Robert Pattinson.

Turns out the man also known as Spunk Ransom was forced to admit that he hasn't had a chance to read the final installment of "The Twilight Saga" since it was released two years ago due to his busy schedule, which includes his upcoming role in "Bel Ami." Since filming is expected to begin this fall for "Breaking Dawn," sounds like Pattinson had better get reading.

Pattinson was able to confirm, however, that "Breaking Dawn" will be following the path of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" in having both of its films shot back-to-back. This bit of news was also expected but remained unconfirmed from Summit Entertainment's press release last week.

"I'm glad they're shooting them together at least because I think that would just be easier, doing it all in one," Pattinson admitted.

Even though he hasn't yet read the novel, Pattinson still knows a thing or two about the more talked-about "Breaking Dawn" moments. MTV News' Josh Horowitz commented that some of the story's big surprises have already been announced — like the fact that Bella Swan is going to be having a baby — and asked Pattinson what he felt about what "Breaking Dawn" had in store.

"I think that's going to be very funny," he said about the birthing scene. "The only thing I know about it is the famous scene: the kind of cesarean scene ... I do not envy Bill Condon to have to think of some way to do that."

Check out everything we've got on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn."
